World Soil Day 2024: Sidhguru’s Global Soil Conservation Movement aims to address the soil crisis by supporting country leaders around the world in implementing policies to increase organic matter in agricultural soils.
World Soil Day, Celebrated on 5th December.provides a platform to focus on the importance of healthy soils and advocate for sustainable management of soil resources. Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, who has been rallying for the cause of soil conservation for the past few decades, has launched the Save Soil Movement which aims to bring together people around the world to stand up for soil health. is

This global movement of Sidhguru aims to solve the soil crisis by supporting the leaders of all countries around the world in practical policies to increase organic matter in agricultural soils.
To raise global awareness, Sidhguru embarked on a motorbike journey in 2022 covering a total of 27 countries and 30,000 km. It started its journey from London and ended in Coimbatore in June.
As part of the journey, individuals were asked to sign up to become an “Earth Buddy,” encouraging them to spend 10 minutes each day in the soil.
In addition to creating public awareness, the movement looks forward to motivating nearly four billion people to support policy reorientations to protect and nurture soil.
The idea behind the campaign is that when people participate in large numbers, the environmental issue will turn into an electoral issue, spurring political action.
The Save Soil movement is looking forward to policy direction to increase and maintain soil organic content at a minimum of 3% to 6%.
Recently, on Sadguru’s birthday, farmers from Banaskantha district of Gujarat came together to form Banas Save Soil Farmer Producer Company (BSSFPC), said to be the country’s first soil-focused Farmer Producer Companies (FPC).
