The wait for Karachiites is almost over, as winter is slowly making its presence felt in the port city with chilly nights. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a further drop in temperature in the coming days.

According to PMD’s three-day forecast, cold and dry weather is expected in Karachi, with night temperatures likely to drop to 17 degrees Celsius. However, daytime conditions are forecast to remain mainly dry.

A minimum temperature of 17.8 degrees Celsius was recorded during the last 24 hours, with a forecast of 17°C to 19°C on December 3 and 4. Meanwhile, the humidity level in Karachi remained at 58 percent, with light northeasterly winds blowing.

The Meteorological Department has also forecast light rain or drizzle in Qamber Shahdadkot, Jacobabad and Larkana districts today, while the temperature may touch 16 degree Celsius in upper Sindh districts over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the weather turned colder in the north-eastern districts of Balochistan after rain and hailstorm.

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) – a subsidiary of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Balochistan said the hailstorm broke a 42-year-old record in Dikki district.

Hundreds of solar panels and trees were damaged in the affected areas.

Cold winds entered the province after rain and hailstorm in Kan Mehtarzai area of ​​Chaman, bringing down the temperature to -3 degrees Celsius.

According to PDMA, mercury may drop to minus 7 degree Celsius in upper northern districts near the border.

Earlier, the PMD had forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers with snowfall over the mountains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from November 29 till today.

The areas under its influence are Waziristan, Kurram, Mohmand, Khyber, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Astor, Ghazhar, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalkot, Kotli included. , mansion and garden.

Apart from this, Potohar region, Murree, Galiat, Islamabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar and Leh are likely to receive light rain or drizzle today.
