LAHORE: Punjab Education Department has modified the winter vacation schedule of schools in the province through a new announcement.
As per the notification, the winter vacation will now start from December 23 instead of December 20 as planned earlier.
Schools will reopen on January 13, 2025. The change comes after the department initially announced a break from December 20 to January 10.
Meanwhile, educational institutions in Sindh will have winter vacation from December 21 to December 31, during which both private and government schools will remain closed.
On the other hand, the winter vacations in schools across Balochistan started from December 16 as the severity of cold weather increased in the province.
In a statement issued by the Education Department of Balochistan, it has been said that schools, colleges and universities will remain closed in 20 districts including Quetta from December 16.
According to the winter vacation schedule announced by the authorities, the educational institutions in the cold weather areas will remain closed till February 28.
Meanwhile, parts of the southwestern province with relatively hot weather will have a 10-day holiday from January 1 to January 10.
