While accepting the award, director Jon M. Cho was joined on stage by Cynthia Ario, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and Mark E. Platt.
He began the speech by expressing his love for his parents and his love for the original drama that debuted in 2003.

The filmmaker said being on stage with a “beautiful, beautiful cast” was like “living a dream”.

He also appreciated the fans for creating innovative videos, singalongs, makeup, hair products and bakery items highlighting the importance of the film.
Cho concluded his speech, “At a time when despair and cynicism are currently ruling the planet, we can still create art that is a fundamental act of optimism, that is empowerment and It’s a pleasure.”
Wicked: Part One It received a total of four nominations, including a nod for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Arrivo and Grande also received their first nominations for the Best Actress – Musical or Comedy category and the Female Actor in a Supporting Role category, respectively.
