In a major development in the legal proceedings related to the May 9 riots that rocked the country last year, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday convicted those involved in attacks on military installations across the country. Announced to be heard.

The Army’s media wing said in a statement that the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) sentenced 25 accused for their role in the riots that broke out after the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. Hear it.

The attacks targeted the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the Corps Commander’s House in Lahore, also known as Jinnah House, and other sensitive installations and were strongly condemned by the government, which cracked down on the rioters. Committed to action.

Hundreds of PTI activists were arrested after the attack and more than 100 civilians are facing military trials.

The government has again blamed the former ruling party for planning the riots – a charge strongly denied by the PTI, which has demanded a judicial probe into last year’s events.

Asserting that justice “will be served in full in truth” after the masterminds and planners of the May 9 tragedy are convicted, the ISPR statement said that all the culprits have an appeal. The right to and other legal remedies are preserved, as guaranteed by law and the Constitution.
