Wasteful spending

Pakistan generates about 20 million tons of solid waste annually, of which only 40 percent is collected and disposed of properly. The remaining 60 percent is either dumped in open spaces and waterways or burned, releasing toxic fumes into the atmosphere. The consequences of improper waste management are adversely affecting our environment. Water pollution, soil pollution, and air pollution are all linked to poor waste disposal practices. Moreover, due to lack of proper waste management, many public areas are foul. We need to come up with a better waste management system.
