Animated superstars Wallace and Gromit made a special guest appearance on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing, which co-host Claudia Winkleman called “the best thing that ever happened to me”.
The duo – Grommet the dog and Wallace the cheese-loving inventor – appeared via “video link” so viewers could read the terms and conditions before being able to vote for their favorite celebrity dancer.
While Wallace is still in the shower when Winkleman crosses his house “live”, Gromit steps in to save the day once again.
Wallace and Gromit will next be seen in Aardman’s latest film Vengeance Most Fowl on BBC One this Christmas.
Covering Wallace in his home studio with a silver disco ball, a bright purple rainbow backdrop, and a large cup of Oo Cha Cha on the table, Gromit plays a “practice tape” of the inventor that Read the terms and conditions for Voting
Wallace soon entered to take over the room, accessorizing his usual clothes with a larger-than-life sparkling red bow tie.
As expected, Wallace has an accident – in the middle of reading these conditions his seat falls over the back of the table.
“Good luck to all the couples,” said Wallace, thumbing the top of the desk, while Grommet held up a score paddle with a “7.”
Vengeance Most Foul will see the return of villainous penguin Feathers McGrath, who first appeared in 1993’s The Wrong Trousers, as he seeks revenge on the duo.
Aardman Animations’ stop-motion film can be seen on Christmas Day at 18:10 GMT. and will also be on BBC iPlayer..
