Lahore: A 12-year-old domestic worker was allegedly tortured by her owner in North Kent area.
The victim, identified as Ali Sarwar, was allegedly left far away from his employer’s house after his condition deteriorated due to abuse. Locals found the boy in distress and informed the police.
Patrol personnel reached the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital.
Police officials said that the extent of injuries and nature of violence will be determined after medical examination. 15 Acting on a complaint received through the helpline, the North Kent Police arrested the employer, identified as Talha Abbas. A case has been registered against the accused.
18 including 11 women were arrested from the hotel
Gulbarg police arrested 18 people including 11 women for allegedly indulging in immoral activities in a raid on a brothel run under the guise of a hotel. The raid was carried out on a tip-off regarding illegal activities at the hotel. Those arrested include Saqleen, Imran, Jamshed, Wasif, Sudra, Sadia, Masooma, Shayan, Fawzia, Maryam, Tanveer, Nargis, Rafia, Sonia, Yasmin, Kanwal and Shahzadi. According to the police, the main accused, Zohaib, used to run a Kotha on the pretext of running a hotel.
Two people injured due to cylinder burst
Two people were injured when a cylinder exploded in the kitchen of a bakery in Wapda town.
As soon as the incident was reported, the rescue teams reached the spot.
They brought the fire under control and provided immediate aid. The injured were shifted to the hospital.
Motorcyclist dies due to speeding
On Sunday, a 17-year-old motorcyclist lost his life due to speeding near Muhammad Ali Chowk area of the township police station.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred due to high speed due to which the motorcycle skidded. The rider, identified as Salman Arif, fell on the road and died on the spot. Edhi Foundation volunteers took the dead body to the mortuary.
