QUETTA: The secluded Ormara beach in Gwadar has become a lively haven for migratory birds seeking shelter from the Siberian cold.

Among the feathered visitors to the beach are the Caspian Gull, Steppe Gull, and Black-headed Gull, which make a fascinating spectacle that adds to the allure of the winter beach.

Every year, these feathered visitors travel thousands of miles to escape the Siberian cold, settling in various areas of Balochistan including Lasbela, Barkhan and Musa Khel. On rare occasions, they also visit Quetta’s Hana Lake before continuing their long journey to destinations like India.

Officials of the Wildlife Department, Gwadar, have visited the beach to review the measures taken to protect the birds and ensure that their habitat remains safe.

Assistant Conservator Zahiduddin confirmed. The News Staff have been instructed to protect these visiting birds and protect sea turtle nests in the area.

The arrival of these migratory birds not only highlights Balochistan’s ecological importance but also serves as a reminder of the region’s role in maintaining global wildlife migration patterns.
