Valencia Carlos Corbern has been named head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal after parting ways with the Spanish side. West Bromwich Albionsaid the struggling La Liga club.
Corburn spent three years. Leeds United As their under-23 coach and a member of Marcelo Bielsa’s backroom staff, before becoming Huddersfield Town manager in 2020.
The 41-year-old, who has since coached. Olympiakos and West Brom, having also previously played for Valencia’s youth team.
“Carlos Corburn will be the new CF coach of Valencia until 2027,” Valencia said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The club has informed West Bromwich Albion FC of the exercise of the exit option set out in the agreement to leave the English club.”
Corbyn posted a statement thanking the English club and their fans.
“I cannot begin to express how I feel about West Bromwich Albion, its fans and everyone associated with the club,” it read.
“In my more than two years here, I have simply come to love this community and the decision to leave has been the hardest of my life. I will always have a place in my heart for this special club and I hope that a I’ll be back someday. Thank you all for your incredible support.”
Corburn replaces Ruben Barja, They were fired on Monday. Valencia are second from bottom in the standings with 12 points from 17 league games with just two wins and four points from the safety zone.
The club’s Singaporean owner Peter Lim continues the streak. Faced with fierce protests from fans.
Lim took over the then debt-ridden Valencia in 2014 but has not been a popular figure, with the club regularly forced to sell top players to reduce the club’s high debts while strengthening the squad. Important signatures were not made.
Valencia, who have a game in hand, are next in second place. Real Madrid Jan. 3 at home, a rescheduled game after the original match was postponed last month due to flooding.
