Baloch presented a handwritten petition before the ATC-VII judge when he was brought to the judicial complex inside the Central Jail to hear cases related to explosives and encounter with the police. In the petition, a copy of which is with The News, he said that he had already submitted several petitions to the court, yet he was being allowed to visit his family once every two weeks. is He said that whenever the court sought a response from the jail authorities, they said that they were allowing them to meet every week.

“The jail authorities are lying to the court. I am not even being allowed to offer Friday prayers in the mosque, nor am I being provided TV cable,” he complained, requesting the judge to Visit the prison yourself to witness the “injustices”. He is being met.

To a question, the accused said that despite providing a TV, he could neither watch news channels nor any entertainment program due to lack of cable. Uzair’s lawyer Haider Farooq Jatoi argued that other prisoners were allowed two visits a week, but his client was allowed one visit every two weeks. He requested the judge to order the authorities to provide facilities to his client as per the jail manual.

The judge directed the jail superintendent to submit his report at the next hearing on December 24.

Uzair was booked in dozens of cases of murder, kidnapping, encounter with the police during the 2012 operation in Lyari, grenade attacks on law enforcement officials and extortion. However, they have already been acquitted in more than half of the cases due to insufficient evidence or benefit of doubt. In April 2020, Uzair was sentenced to 12 years in prison by a military court in a spying case.
