US President Joe Biden said in a statement on Sunday that the US will work with partners to deal with threats in Syria after a Turkish-backed rebel group overthrew the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

The US president said he would support Syria’s neighbors during the transition period and assess the rebel group’s commitment to the transition period.

Bashar al-Assad must be held accountable, US President.

He added that he would work closely with Syrian groups and regional leaders to ensure a transition of power in Syria.

The Democrat expressed his concern over the dangerous and uncertain situation in Syria. When asked about Bashar’s escape to Moscow, Biden said, “I don’t know where Bashar al-Assad is, I heard he is in Moscow.”

Syrian rebel fighters stormed Damascus unopposed on Sunday, ousting President Assad and ending his family’s nearly six-decade rule after a lightning advance that ended a 13-year civil war. Changed the way.

In one of the most consequential turns in the Middle East for generations, the fall of the Assad regime wiped out a bastion from which Iran and Russia exercised influence throughout the Arab world.

His sudden overthrow at the hands of a Turkish-backed coup would limit Iran’s ability to arm its allies and could damage Russia’s naval base in the Mediterranean. It could pave the way for the eventual return of millions of refugees who have been scattered in camps in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan for more than a decade.
