In a strange incident, two passengers were detained on Tuesday after they joked about a “bomb” while traveling on a flight from Islamabad to Karachi.
According to the sources, the private airline going to Karachi was stopped by taking the passengers off the plane on the suspicion of a bomb and it was thoroughly searched. The detained passengers, who were friends, told the flight attendant that they were joking, the source added.
However, the Airports Security Force (ASF) took them down and took them into custody. Due to the incident, the flight from Islamabad to Karachi was reportedly delayed for three and a half hours.
In a similar incident, a British passenger faced fines of up to $24,500 after he said “he’s going to blow up the plane” as he traveled to the island of Menorca. However, his message on Snapchat was picked up by UK security services who alerted Spanish authorities, and asked them to drag two Spanish fighter jets to go after the plane. Aditya Verma, then 18, was detained and sent to jail for two days after being released on bail. He told the court it was “a prank in a private group setting”. “It was just sent to my friends I was traveling with that day,” he said.
