Lahore (Commerce Reporter) Provincial Minister of Industry and Commerce Chaudhry Shafia Hussain said that for the first time solar energy technology training is being provided in Toyota institutions. Promotion of quality technical education is the first priority of the government.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting in the committee room of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) on Tuesday.
In the meeting, various issues, including upgrading the institutions of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEOTA) and cooperation with other institutions, including improving the quality of technical education, were reviewed. The progress on Chief Minister Skill Development Program was also reviewed in the meeting.
Toyota Chairman Sajid Khokhar, GM Operations Aamir Aziz, PM Youth Program Dr. Shahbaz Shamsi and other concerned officers attended the meeting. Representatives of Seylani Welfare Trust including Afzal Chandia and M Ibrahim participated through video link. He said that the process of upgrading Tevta institutions is going on step by step. He highlighted that children are being offered free IT short courses for three months under the CM Skill Development Programme. More than 1,000 students have completed these courses, and the second phase is nearing completion. After completion of the course, international certification of the course will also be done. The minister emphasized that international certification will provide employment opportunities to skilled people in global markets. These trained professionals will earn valuable foreign exchange for the country which will help improve the economy. The Selani Welfare Trust has expressed interest in investing in technical education promotion projects under Tevta.
Debate on ‘Role of AI in Education’ begins

Over two days, the event will feature 30 research papers in poster sessions, 13 keynote speakers (8 in person, 5 virtual) and representation from leading academic institutions such as LUMS, NUST, IQRA University, and international participants. From Australia, United Kingdom, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Canada and China. Professor Dr. Akif Anwar Chaudhry emphasized the importance of the conference and said, ‘Integration of AI in education is essential for a sustainable future. The conference provides a unique opportunity for educators, researchers and policy makers to exchange ideas and advance the quality of teacher education.’
