ISLAMABAD: The top leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday threw its weight behind talks with the coalition government for the sake of the country, saying that Pakistan is their top priority.
The development comes as Imran Khan’s party is set to present a “Charter of Demands” to him at a meeting next week. The two sides have met twice – on December 23 and January 2 – to defuse the current political tensions in the country.

Meanwhile, senior PTI leader and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi stressed the need for dialogue between the finance ministry and the opposition benches.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, speaking to the media after appearing in the anti-terrorism court in Lahore, warned that the failure of the ongoing negotiation process could endanger democracy in the country.
