A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted abduction of a three-year-old girl in Wolverhampton.
West Midlands Police received reports that at around 17:15 GMT on Thursday, a man tried to pick up the girl while she was outside a house on Leicester Street.
He was stopped by the child’s mother and is believed to have taken off in the direction of Harrow Street.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempting to abduct the girl on Saturday and has been detained for questioning, police said.
The force said it believed it was an isolated incident and the child was not injured.

“We are following multiple lines of inquiry and this arrest is an important step.”
Officers continue to appeal to anyone with information to come forward.
