Gilgit: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday sentenced former Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader to 34 years in prison for threatening security agencies.
Apart from the punishment, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 600,000 on the former chief minister while directing the Inspector General of Police to arrest him and transfer him to jail. The ATC also ordered the director general of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to block the politician’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
Khurshid was booked for threatening security agencies, GB Chief Secretary and Chief Election Commissioner with dire consequences during PTI’s power show on 26 May 2024.
