The youth and the unemployed

Youth unemployment is a serious problem in Pakistan which threatens the future of the country. With a growing population and few job opportunities, the gap between education and employment has widened. The privatization of state-owned enterprises and the sale of national organizations have worsened the situation, leading to many job losses, especially for middle- and low-income families. The education sector has also suffered. Privatization of schools has created unequal access to quality education, leaving children of unemployed parents at a disadvantage. Graduates entering the job market are often unprepared due to outdated curricula and lack of professional training.

The effects of unemployment are severe, including increased poverty and mental health problems among young people. A generation that has been driving national development is stuck, spreading frustration and despair. To deal with this crisis, the government should focus on creating jobs through investment in industrialization and technology. Public-private partnerships can encourage entrepreneurship, and education reforms can align skills with market needs. Tackling unemployment is essential not only economically but also to restore hope and stability in Pakistani society. This issue needs urgent attention to ensure that Pakistan does not lose the potential of its youth.
