Karachi:
Even as we embrace the joy of the New Year, wedding celebrations are in full swing across the country. Of course, with all the glamor intact. And especially during this wedding season, white is becoming the new black, seeing as some of our favorite celebrities are bringing out their glow in yellow.
Bride’s Progress
Let’s start with this season’s talk of the town bride Maheen Siddiqui. Defying the traditional red color associated with a Pakistani bride’s big day, Maheen stunned in a white frock that fell down the length of her figure. She also opted for a form-defining vest that sparkled with floral motif embellishments.
White sleeves were peeking out with a smattering of embroidery and beadwork. The daydream look was finished with a net veil, embroidered with golden flowers and accessorized with a beaded sash. With this ritual attachment, Mahin looked like nothing less than a water diamond at first – to those who are connoisseurs of the Bergerton language.
Traditional with a twist
A simple scroll through Mawra Hussain’s Instagram feed will tell you all you need to know about the fluidity of her stylistic choices. Also in the throes of wedding season, the 32-year-old actor flaunted his white tresses.
Below, Mawra’s base was a simple gharara with a cropped blouse on top. But with the addition of layers the magic came alive. Shrouded at the base was a magnificent netted top that extended to the pools of her home. Beaded tassels clung to her elbow, adding an extra flair to the always-elegant hanging sleeve look.
Adopting a similar structure, a long dupatta slides down her shoulders to bring the outfit together in a satisfying harmony. The look was further accessorized with dangling earrings and a wealth of white bangles, ensuring that no skin was left bare. With sleek black hair flowing down her back, Maura easily commanded the intrigue of any onlooker.
Shining confidence
Sanam Saeed has not been easy on us for a while now. Posing like unchallenged royalty, she donned a series of pale-hued outfits as if it couldn’t be any easier feat.
Her latest ensemble is a white, open-front kakadar on pure fabric, rich in glass and pearl work. She is decked out with a heavy dupatta and three layers of sharara pants, giving a stunning display of elegance.
An earlier post expanded on the sarcasm. She draped Sanam in an elaborate coat-like dress over a bikini blouse that was equally embellished. Loose, winged sleeves draped down her arms like embroidered petals, delicately contoured at the edges. A sparkly white choker clung to her neck to enhance the sparkling look.
To put it all in simple words, Sanam is a boss and she knows it.
Vintage never retires
As glamorous as most wedding seasons are, there are happy moments that are well complemented by simple statements. Yamuna Zaidi nailed the sentiment perfectly with her modest yet classy outfit.
For the close-knit “Haldi” event, she wore a white Peshwaz maxi that flattered her figure, churidar leggings and a vintage pair of ankle boots, as she mentioned in her Instagram post. The soft drape of the netted dupatta slipped over the top half of her dress, curling gently into her skin tight sleeves.
The dress was layered with a white and yellow trio of jhumki and gujre, a band on both wrists, and a neat colored crown on her head. Let Yumna be your reminder that you can never go wrong with an understated mood. Also, white beams no matter how you wear it.
