LAHORE: The World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) has canceled India’s hosting rights for next year’s Women’s Blind Cricket World Cup. This decision was taken during a meeting held in Multan on Monday.
The move comes after India refused to send its team to Pakistan for the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup and refused to issue visas to the Pakistani team for the 2022 Blind Cricket World Cup. WBCC expressed concern over the political tension between the two countries. “This decision by the WBCC is seen as a strong stand against politicization of sports. It ensures fair play and equal opportunities for all participating countries,” said a council official.
