The petitioner Afshan Asif took a stand in the petition that his wife Sardar Muhammad Asif Naqshbandi was picked up by the law enforcement agencies on December 17 from Gulistan Johar area and her whereabouts could not be traced.
He said that the detained person was earlier deported by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) authorities after declaring him to be an Afghan citizen, but after the decision of the Afghan court, the Afghan government refused to confirm him. had refused.
The petitioner maintained that the detainee was the father of her children and ran a restaurant and was not involved in any criminal activity. The High Court was requested to direct the FIA and other law enforcement agencies to produce the person in custody and provide details of the cases against him.
A division bench of the Sindh High Court headed by Justice Muhammad Faisal Kamal Alam issued notices to the federal and provincial law officers, FIA and others on January 9 and sought their comments after the preliminary hearing of the petition.
Nursing College Application
The SHC directed the health department and others to submit a compliance report regarding enrollment of students in nursing colleges. The petitioners had taken the stand that a private nursing college was not allowing admission of students despite the court orders and the announcement of the federal government.
Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the valuable academic year of the students has been affected due to the delay by the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council and requested the Sindh High Court to direct the respondents to implement the court orders and Instruct students to ensure enrollment for the academic year.
The SHC directed the Nursing and Midwifery Council and other respondents to file a compliance report on the next date of hearing.
