Belfast City Airport’s runway will remain closed for the rest of Sunday after an Aer Lingus plane experienced an emergency landing during high winds.
The plane had taken off from Edinburgh to Belfast at around 16:00 GMT with four crew members but no passengers on board.
The images show the aircraft sitting on the runway with the nose wheel down.
It is understood that no one was seriously injured.
It was a “positioning flight” operated by Emerald Airlines on behalf of Aer Lingus.
Emerald Airlines said it “encountered a hard landing due to poor weather conditions on arrival at Belfast City Airport”.
Two flights – from London City and Leeds to Bradford – have arrived at Belfast International Airport after being diverted to land at the airport.
