ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to implement the reform agenda for good governance in all sectors of government.
He was discussing with the newly appointed experts on improving governance who met him here. Shahbaz said that digitization, automation and better decision-making processes are the pillars of development and prosperity in the modern world.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the appointment of experts will improve the decision-making process and help in more effective governance. He said that their input and critical reviews on important public interest decisions would yield far-reaching positive results. He expressed confidence that the government will utilize the expertise of those individuals who have rendered invaluable services in their respective fields.
Shahbaz Sharif told the experts that they have the important responsibility of contributing experts’ opinions and constructive thinking in the decision-making process of national affairs. He expressed hope that the experts will perform their duties efficiently.
The Prime Minister was briefed that the experts will provide special and important advice to the government in their respective fields, which will help in more informed decisions in various fields. The newly appointed officers were introduced and briefed about their responsibilities. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and other senior officials participated in the meeting.
Apart from this, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the development of Balochistan province and the welfare of its residents is the first priority and every possible effort is being made to provide employment opportunities to its youth. PM Office Media Wing said in a press release that he met Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandukhil and PML-N Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Shah Ghulam Qadir. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and others also participated in the meeting. Issues related to Balochistan province were discussed in the meeting. The Governor thanked the Prime Minister for taking special interest in the development projects of the province. PMLNAJK President Ghulam Qadir also thanked the Prime Minister for providing a package of Rs 23 billion to solve the energy problems of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed his best wishes to the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and emphasized the need to transform the existing goodwill between Pakistan and Bangladesh into concrete cooperation. is He made these remarks while appreciating the outstanding services rendered by the outgoing Bangladeshi High Commissioner Mohammad Ruhol Alam Siddiqui for the promotion of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations. The outgoing Bangladesh High Court paid a farewell visit to the Prime Minister, who is returning to Bangladesh after completing his four-year tenure in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Bangladesh which are bound by common history, common faith and cultural similarities. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended his ‘heartfelt wishes’ to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for a speedy and complete recovery after undergoing brain surgery. “Sending my heartfelt wishes to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for a speedy and full recovery after recovering from surgery,” the PM wrote on his X timeline. Besides, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to the residence of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday and condoled the death of his sister. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah. He recited Fatiha for the soul of the deceased.
