San Jose State women’s volleyball player Blair Fleming was named an honorable mention. Mountain West Conference on the Tuesday before your tournament.
Fleming, a transgender woman, led the team in kills during the regular season with 297 and has 3.86 kills per set. Brooke Silserwho filed a lawsuit against Fleming against the school, was also honored with notable honors.

Social media users on X scrutinized the Mountain West Conference for honoring Fleming amid controversy over trans inclusion in women’s sports.
San Jose State is the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament and has a bye into the semifinals. The Spartans finished the season 14-6 overall and 12-6 against Mountain West opponents. The teams decision to play against San Jose State saw their six wins go.
Two of those teams could play San Jose State in the tournament. Faces of Utah State Boise State The winner will play San Jose State in the quarterfinals but could lose the match. Neither team played San Jose State that season, possibly because of Fleming’s inclusion on the team.
It is unclear whether either school will cancel their upcoming conference tournament matchups.

A federal judge also blocked a motion barring Fleming from participating in the Mountain West Conference, and an appeals court upheld that ruling.
