LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin visited the Punjab Clean Water Authority (PSPA) on Wednesday.
PSPA CEO Syed Zahid Aziz briefed the minister on the current situation of clean water supply in Punjab. He told the minister that the canal water for the people will be filtered with modern technology.
The minister said that the Punjab government is trying to ensure the supply of clean drinking water to the people across the province. PSPA will monitor water filtration plants across the province, and the authority will achieve its targets by December 2025, the CEO said. PSPA Chairman Zahid Akram said that plans are being made to ensure supply of clean drinking water from Murree to Rajanpur. The CEO emphasized the need to promote the use of canal water to limit groundwater discharge and conserve groundwater for the future.
