PESHAWAR: The session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly scheduled for Wednesday was postponed due to lack of quorum, treasury benches showed disinterest in the longest session of the provincial assembly.
Speaker Babar Saleem Swati presided over the meeting which started with the recitation of Holy Quran. However, a member of the opposition pointed out the lack of quorum. At that time only 24 members were present in the House, even after the session resumed, the required number of members could not be met to continue the proceedings. Due to which the speaker adjourned the meeting till 2 pm on January 13.
It is worth mentioning here that initially the proceedings of the provincial assembly were supposed to start at 2 pm on Wednesday, but it was delayed by more than four hours. Due to which the journalists in the press gallery boycotted the proceedings.
