Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon presided over a meeting at the Central Police Office on Wednesday to review the problems of women and child protection centers and police measures to improve them. .
Complaints of missing children and the action taken after registering these complaints were reviewed in the meeting. Officials said that the meeting decided that FIRs related to missing and abducted children should be registered expeditiously under the Human Rights Department and cases should be followed up.
Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), Crime and DIGs Investigation, Establishment, IT, Criminal Investigation Agency and Investigation Department officers besides headquarters participated in the meeting.
DIG Crime and Investigation Aamir Farooqui briefed the participants about the performance of Women and Child Protection Centers and registration of domestic disputes, missing children, kidnapping, human trafficking, acid attacks and other cases and in this regard. Told about the actions of the police.
It was informed that all the concerned departments will join the ‘One Stop Protection Centres’, while currently 15 police stations, police stations, CPLC, and Zainab and Zara Alert are receiving complaints of missing and kidnapped children.
A CPLC official said that the missing children were reported to the concerned district police officer through Zara and Zainab Alert, and the CPLC is in touch with the district police to monitor such cases.
The IGP said that cases should be registered immediately on complaints related to missing and abducted children and in this regard the CPLC should exchange complaints with the IG Complaints Cell which compiles data on complaints of missing children. will ensure overall actions to be taken.
The provincial police chief directed the Assistant IG Complaint Cell not only to regularly share information on the recovery of missing children on Zara and Zainab Alert but also to integrate the data related to such children with all concerned agencies in a single click. The IGP said that CPLC, Human Rights Department of Sindh Police, Complaint Cell, Police Stations, Anti-Violent Crime Cell and other government and social organizations should ensure measures to compile data related to complaints and recovery of missing children. And establish an inter-provincial liaison in this regard. The provincial communication system with other provinces and the federation should also be improved. Besides, all district police officers were directed to register cases under the Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018 related to human trafficking.
