The families of two missing Hungarian sisters in Aberdeen have said they are desperate to find them.
Eliza and Henrietta Huzty, originally from Hungary, were last seen in Market Street at Victoria Bridge at around 02:12 last Tuesday.
Police have been searching around the River Dee and on the banks below the Wellington Bridge, involving divers, a helicopter and search dogs since late last week.
The sisters’ families said it was a “troubling and upsetting time”.
In a statement released by Police Scotland, they said: “This has been a very upsetting and distressing time for our family.
“We are really worried about Eliza and Henrietta and we just want them to be found.
“If you think you have any information that could help the police find Eliza and Henrietta, please pass it on as soon as possible.”
He added: “We appreciate all the support our family has been given over the past few days and would like our privacy to be respected at this time.”
The sisters, said to be part of a set of triplets, moved to Scotland from Hungary 10 years ago.
They are described as white and of thin build, with long, brown hair.
His brother Joseph, told BBC News that their mother had been in touch with the women a few days before they went missing..
His other sister, Edith, also said that she had spoken to him on New Year’s Eve and that he seemed happy and cheerful.
He said it was unusual for him to hit the streets early in the morning.
CCTV footage from the area where Eliza and Henrietta were last seen is being examined by Police Scotland.
They were last seen crossing Victoria Bridge and turning right onto a footpath alongside the River Dee, heading towards Aberdeen Boat Club.
The searches on Monday searched an area between Wellington Bridge and South Harbour.
Chief Inspector Darren Bruce said the river remained the focus of the search and there was no evidence of the sisters leaving the area.
He urged anyone who may have seen them or has private CCTV or dash cam footage from the area to come forward and share information with officers as soon as possible.
He said: “The families of Eliza and Henrietta are extremely worried about them and we are in constant contact with them as our search continues.
“We know that people across Aberdeen are also deeply concerned for the two missing sisters and I would once again appeal to anyone who can help with information to contact us.
“An extensive effort is underway in the area, with specialist officers continuing to search the banks of the river, while door-to-door inquiries are also being carried out at homes and businesses in the surrounding area.”
C-Insp Bruce added: “Even if it doesn’t seem important, please provide any information. Any piece of information could be important.”
