As the year 2024 draws to a close, the long-standing problems of the education sector in Sindh remain unresolved, with some important appointments still to be made.

The year 2024 was bad for education in Sindh, and suffered from ad hocism. Textbooks could not be published on time, delaying the start of the academic year from April to August. But the publication of textbooks was further delayed and students suffered educational losses.

Eight education boards could not appoint permanent chairmen, controllers, secretaries and audit officers, leading to inordinate delay in the declaration of matriculation and intermediate part two results, while most of the boards are yet to declare the results of intermediate part one. .

Five universities — namely Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Lyari; Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University of Law; Sufi University, Bhatshah; Larkana University and Sheikh Ayaz University of Law were deprived of permanent Vice-Chancellor.

The MDCAT paper was leaked for the second year in a row. The Sindh High Court canceled the test results conducted by the Dow University of Health Sciences and arrested some employees including the controller of the university.
