Firefighters had to extricate a cat from a drain pipe after it got stuck in the middle of a moving drain pipe.
The black cat, a female named John, was found sticking its head out of the end of a pipe attached to a garage in Clevedon, North Somerset. Sky News.
Firefighters were called on Sunday for the rescue mission. Small tools were used to extricate the cat before it was rushed to the local vet, where the remainder of the pipe was removed.
Thankfully the cat was not seriously injured, according to Clevedon Fire Station.
“John (yes John) had found the cat. [sic] Herself (yes Joan is a girl, it’s a long story) got stuck in the garage drain pipe from inside the garage,” he added.
“Crews used ladders and small tools to get John out. The easiest and least painful option was to cut a section of pipe with John out,” the fire department said.
The veterinary clinic, Vets4Pets Clevedon, said in a statement that John was cared for, “husbanded and pampered” before being returned and reunited with his “comfortable owner”.
He added that the cat was given oxygen therapy and sedated while fire brigade rescuers removed the pipe.
