Nowshera: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial government has completely failed to maintain law and order and the province is facing terror. Left at the mercy of the kidneys.
Addressing the ANP meeting here, he said that people are being severely affected by the ongoing terrorism in the province, while the PTI and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister had launched a movement to conquer Islamabad.
Provincial Vice President Salahuddin, provincial members and others also addressed the meeting. Mian Iftikhar claimed that PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, opposition leader Umar Ayub and others have left their workers. When the police and law enforcement agencies started a crackdown, they fled the scene.
According to him, the attention of the provincial government was focused on the release of Imran Khan while the federal government wanted to keep him in prison and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffered the most in this struggle.
Mian Iftikhar said that Pakistan’s friendly relations with China and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route are being sabotaged by acts of terrorism in Kurram and other annexed districts.
He said that communal violence is being used as a ploy for this terrorism but the motive behind it is to capture resources in Kuram. He strongly criticized the federal government for its failure to control terrorism and restore lasting peace in the province.
Mian Iftikhar criticized the Centre’s slowness in implementing the National Finance Award and the 18th Amendment and inaction on growing lawlessness in the province.
The nationalist leader urged the federal government to focus on peace and national interests, saying that the first priority should be peace after which domestic and foreign policies should be reviewed.
He lamented that schools and hospitals are being destroyed and people are being forced to flee their homes. He accused both governments of being indifferent to the plight of Pakhtuns.
