LAHORE: Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori has said that the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is misleading the nation by presenting false figures of casualties in clashes related to the November 24 Long March.
Addressing the ‘Meet the Press’ event at the Lahore Press Club, Tesori claimed that if the record of 278 deaths was presented to him, he would give Rs 20 lakh to each family. He said that the allegations of blood holi in Islamabad are false, he could not even see blood stains on D Chowk. He further said that Pakistan Army is the pride of the country, they should not be criticized.
Governor Sindh further said that Pakistan belongs to every individual and not to any particular political party, every citizen between the age of 12 to 70 years is well aware of the current situation. Tesori further said that Pakistan is going through a very difficult time and the reason for the current trouble in the country is not only related to internal problems but also the conspiracy of anti-Pakistan external elements. Tesori said that the country needs economic strength and it is time to move forward.
Governor Sindh also urged the elements who are misleading the nation to understand the importance of independent Pakistan and compare it with the people of Palestine who cannot sleep peacefully in the current situation.
He appreciated the executive body of Lahore Press Club for inviting him as a guest and said that he was happy to visit Lahore Press Club. He said that it was an honor for him to address this event. He said that the people of Sindh and Punjab are not different from each other and both the provinces look the same. Talking to the media, he said that Pakistan is a land of extraordinary talent and the troubled era will come to an end. He said that the stock exchange is seeing a boom now. Regarding Sindh, he said that efforts are on to bring the people of Sindh towards IT. He also informed that bikes and laptops have been distributed among the students.
Tesori said that the founder chairman of PTI is responsible for his arrest. He said that both Altaf and Imran have a confrontation with the state and if the former prime minister prioritizes the state over his political agenda, then he is ready to negotiate with Imran.
In response to a question, he said that he had spent four days in Islamabad after November 24, but no affected family met him. He added that if he was the Governor of KP, he would have acted as the host. Tesori added that PTI’s founding chairman had neither a vision nor a team. He said that despite having so many MNAs, he trusted his wife who was sent to lead the movement for his release.
Responding to a question about talks with Imran, Tesori said it was based on consensus between both parties, including the establishment and Imran. He said that if the two sides take any path of negotiation, then they will definitely play their role.
He also said that India is a staunch enemy of Pakistan and is also behind the terrorism on our soil. On a question regarding Kalabagh Dam, Tesori said that the issue should be resolved through dialogue.
Regarding the security situation of Sindh, he said that the Chief Minister of Sindh has executive powers. He further said that if IG Sindh listens to the governor for one month, the crime rate will reduce to almost zero percent. He said that he would write a letter to the Sindh government to formulate a joint strategy against street crime. He further said that Afghans also played a role in the crimes in Karachi. He also said that Pakistan is developing and the success of the Shanghai conference is an example, during which there was no security problem.
