Teenage chess master Gokesh Dumaraju becomes youngest world champion:


India celebrated chess master Gokesh Dumaraju on Thursday when the 18-year-old became the youngest world champion with a thrilling final win over China’s Ding Liren.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to what he called a “historic and exemplary” achievement.

Gokesh won the final game, which looked headed for a draw that would have required more tiebreak matches, after pouncing on a Ding error.
