Taylor Swift reacts to the video of the Kansas City Chiefs announcing that Travis Kelce has been nominated for “Man of the Year” honors.
On Dec. 5, Swift, 34, showed her support for Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce, 35, by liking the team’s Instagram post nominating the NFL star for the Walter Payton “Man of the Year” award.
“You know him for what he does on Sundays, but his efforts reach far beyond the football field. Thank you @killatrav for all you do,” Chiefs wrote, in a charity challenge. Encouraged fans to vote for Kelce.
The post highlighted Kelce’s community contributions with footage of his charitable initiatives.
In the video, Kelce credits his Cleveland Heights, Ohio upbringing for instilling in him a determination to give back.
“I had a beautiful childhood, and that has to do with my parents and the side of the family I grew up in. [with]” he said.
“The east side of Cleveland is such a melting pot of social class and race and religion, and I was able to relate to all these kids growing up and I admired all of who they were.”
Kelce talked about how Kansas City welcomed him when he joined the Chiefs in 2013. Motivated to give back, he established his own foundation, 87 and Running, in 2015 to improve the local community.
“I made it because I really wanted to make sure the city felt as much love for me as I do on Sunday,” he said.
Beyond his foundation, Kelis collaborated with Operation Breakthrough, an educational center that helps underprivileged children in Kansas City.
