Taylor Swift has appealed to her fans to join her in helping those affected by the California wildfires by donating to relief efforts.
The singer shared a statement on her Instagram story on Thursday, expressing her grief over the damage caused by the fire.
“The fires in California have destroyed so many families, and it’s heartbreaking to see these stories come out. So much pain, loss and destruction,” the singer-songwriter wrote.
He highlighted the ongoing work of many organizations and encouraged his followers to consider donating.
“As many people embark on some of the most difficult times of their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups that are working together to help these communities rebuild,” he said.
Swift provided a list of nonprofits she has contributed to, including Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund, 211 LA, California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, The Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, including the Los Angeles Fire. Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. He also appealed to everyone who can donate.
Swift’s contribution joins a growing number of celebrities lending their support to California wildfire efforts.
Other famous people have also helped those affected by the crisis, including Eva Longoria, Jamie Lee Curtis, Paris Hilton, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Damages from the flames are estimated at $250 billion, and they have already burned more than 25,000 acres in places like Altadena, Malibu and Pacific Palisades.
Major singers such as Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Joni Mitchell will perform at a Fire Aid benefit event on January 30, 2025 to further aid recovery efforts.
