At least five people were injured, and one suspect was killed, when a man rammed his pickup truck through the glass doors of a J.C. Penney. Mall in Texasthe police said.
The incident happened Saturday evening, a few days before Christmas, at the Killeen Mall in Killeen, Texas – about 70 miles north of Austin.
At a press conference Saturday evening, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Brian Washko said the truck went “several hundred yards” from the entrance to the JC Penney store.

Instead of stopping, the driver got off the highway, drove into a Kleinmall parking lot and crashed his car into the doors of JCPenney, Sergeant Washko said.
The man driving the truck was shot and killed by law enforcement, officials said.

“There were officers from DPS, the Klein Police Department and three other agencies. Engaged in firing to eliminate that threat to the community,” Sergeant Washko said.
