LAHORE: A dacoit involved in more than 121 crimes was killed in a shootout between the Organized Crime Unit (OCU) Defense and armed suspects late on Monday night.
In the exchange of fire, the accused who was killed by the firing of his colleagues was identified as Ramzan alias Jani, while the rest of the accused managed to escape. According to the police, the OCU Defense team intercepted three suspicious motorcyclists following a call to the police emergency helpline. On receiving the signal to stop, the accused opened fire on the officials indiscriminately. In the ensuing shootout, Ramzan was killed by his own accomplices, who fled the scene under cover of darkness. DSP Organized Crime Raees Ahmed Khan confirmed that Ramzan was a hardened criminal with a record of over 121 dacoities, robberies and other crimes.
