According to the holiday schedule released by NSE, BSE, the Indian stock market will have 14 holidays in 2025.
Stock market holidays 2025
India’s stock exchange has announced 14 trading holidays in 2025. As per the calendar issued by BSE and National Stock Exchange, there will be two holidays in March and August, and one holiday each in February, May, November and December. There will be three commercial holidays in April and October. These include national holidays like Gandhi Jayanti and Independence Day and important religious festivals like Christmas, Diwali and Eid.
These declared holidays are in addition to public holidays falling on weekends or Sundays and general closures on weekends.
A special trading session has been scheduled for Saturday, February 1, when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for 2025-26.

– Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Dussehra: Thursday, October 2, 2025

– Diwali Bali Pratipada: Wednesday, October 22, 2025

Since four gazetted holidays fall on Saturdays or Sundays, there are only 14 non-commercial days in the current holiday calendar. Check out the full list of stock market holidays coming up this weekend:

However, it may be noted that the BSE and NSE may close the market on days other than the holidays fixed above or open the market on days which are actually declared holidays.
