Details of Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward’s £30million family home have emerged amid Prince Andrew’s row over the royal lodge.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s Bagshot Park in Surrey were reportedly gifted to the couple by Queen Elizabeth II as a souvenir of their 1999 wedding.
The couple’s stately home may not be a royal palace, but it is heartwarming and humble. Their Grade II-listed pad is reportedly worth £90,000 a year as they rent from the Crown Estate.
The royal family seems to enjoy leisurely moments there, and have no desire to leave home at any cost.
New details of the house have been circulating on the internet amid Prince Andrew’s battle to win back his beloved Windsor home, which was presented to the Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson by the late Queen.
Reportedly Ingrid Seward OK!says: “It has 120 rooms, a private lake and stables, and 51 acres of land. Edward and Sophie have renewed the lease from the Crown Estate for another 150 years, so it’s obviously theirs. Home forever.”
Located within the defined grounds of Windsor Great Park, this luxury property was built in 1879 for Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, third son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
It is located near Kate Middleton, Prince William’s Adelaide cottage. The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children will be spending time there with royal relatives.
