Metta-owned social media sites including Facebook, Instagram and Threads suffered worldwide outages on Wednesday night, with users unable to access the apps.
The global tech giant confirmed the disruption, saying: “We are working on fixing it as soon as possible.”
Downdetector.com — which tracks problems and outages of websites and social platforms in real time — showed that nearly 1,000 users in Pakistan reported disruptions around 11 p.m.
Users also complained of problems with WhatsApp, with 2,259 registered by Downdetector as of 10:52 p.m. Both social media apps are powered by Meta.
Instagram, which is also owned by Meta, has seen multiple reported outages around the same time frame today. According to the Downdetector website, more than 1,200 outages have been reported since 10:52 p.m.
