Karachi Police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has claimed to have arrested two suspects including a woman while conducting operations in Malir area on Friday.
According to the spokesperson of SIU, both the accused were arrested during the operation launched against the inter-provincial drug dealers in Malir district of Karachi. It has been revealed that the arrested persons have been imprisoned several times in drug cases in the past. The accused have been identified as Irfan Ahmad son of Qurban Ali and Zareena wife Liaqat Ali daughter of Faiz.
Two packets of heroin weighing 400 grams each were recovered from the arrested accused. During investigation, the accused, along with other accomplices, admitted to ordering drugs from different parts of the country and supplying them in Karachi. A case has been registered against them under the Narcotics Control (Amendment) Act, 2022. Further investigation is underway.
