According to insiders, the meeting focused on bridging the gap between the former ruling party and the government by encouraging dialogue and mutual understanding.
Sadiq suggested that both sides should work on persuading their respective hardliners to adopt a more moderate stance for the betterment of the country.
Kaiser, in turn, was willing to consult with members of his own party to promote cooperation. The two leaders agreed to ensure transparency in proceeding with the negotiation process.
Their meeting was reported as an “icebreaker” the day before. Sources said that Tehreek-e-Insaf and the government expressed their willingness to sit together at the negotiation table without any preconditions.

PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai told Geo News that the call for civil disobedience will be withdrawn if talks with the government begin.
However, he warned that if the talks do not start, the government should prepare for a civil disobedience movement. Yousafzai emphasized that the PTI believes in the power of dialogue, but expressed dismay at the lack of seriousness on the part of the government in taking these talks forward.
Yousafzai pointed out that in the past, the government always initiated the negotiation process, not the opposition.

In an interview to Geo News, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram responded to questions about the sudden change in the party’s stance on negotiations.

He said that the founding chairman of PTI has demanded the formation of a committee to start negotiations.
