Quetta: A gas explosion in United Mines Company in Sanjadi caused a mine collapse, 12 miners were trapped. The rescue operation is going on and the bodies of four miners have been recovered so far.

The names of the trapped workers are Roshan Zeib son of Bakht Sameen, Amanullah son of Sultan Ahmed, Waheed Zaman son of Muhammad Yusuf, Nadeemullah son of Muhammad Yusuf, Akbarullah son of Kamaluddin, Noman Saeed son of Noor Al Bahr, Shafiur Rehman son of Hamish. Gul, Azharuddin son of Syedan ​​Gul, Muhammad Yamalik son of Mizar, Omar Wali son of Ghulam Habib, Luqmanzada son of Ruzi Khan and Yar Shah son of Muhammad Zaman.

Provincial Finance and Minerals Minister Mir Shoaib Noshirwani said in a statement that the operation to evacuate the miners trapped in the coal mine in Sanjedi is ongoing.

The bodies of four miners were recovered from the mine on Friday. Eight miners are still trapped.

He added that the Chief Inspector of Mines is personally monitoring the operation and efforts are on to rescue the remaining miners. Efforts to recover the remaining miners are ongoing. Teams from Mines Inspectorate, PDMA, law enforcement agencies and various labor federations are actively involved in the rescue operation.
