Real-life ‘Judai’: Mistress pays boyfriend’s wife INR 1.3 crore to divorce man, what happened next – Times of India

Remember the Bollywood movie ‘Judai’, in which the wife takes money from her husband’s mistress and trades her husband? Well, in a strange turn of events, a similar incident has taken place in China which has shocked and surprised people. However, in this particular incident, the mistress not only lost her money but also her boyfriend!
A strange love triangle
Meet Han, a Chinese man who lives in Shishi, Fujian Province, China. According to reports, Han (known only by his surname) married his wife Yang in 2013 and the couple have two daughters. Years later, Han has an affair with Shi, who also becomes his business partner. And in November 2022, Han welcomed a son with his mistress Xi.
A report by South China Morning Post (SCMP) revealed that the mistress, Shi, later tried to convince Han’s wife, Yang, to divorce the man. For this, Shi agreed to pay Yang 2 million yuan, of which he paid 1.2 million yuan (about Rs. 1.3 crore). But Yang not only took the money, but even after more than a year, she did not leave her husband!
Frustrated with Yang, Shi initially demands his money back. However, when the wife refused to return the money to the mistress and did not even divorce the man, Shi sued Yang in court. In the lawsuit, Shi Malkin claimed that she had a “verbal agreement” with Yang (her boyfriend’s wife) about the money to divorce Han. And since Yang did not fulfill his promise, he must return his money with interest.
What did the court say?

Court verdict on love triangle

Hearing the case, the Shishi People’s Court ruled against Shi’s plea on February 7, SCMP reported. The court held that Shi’s payment violated the moral standards of society and public order, as it was intended to disrupt a legally valid marriage.
It was also later revealed that Han and Yang had filed for divorce and that the couple was in a “cooling-off period” (a 30-day period before their legal separation). This also went against Shay, as it meant that the money did not meet the legal conditions for repayment.
Not only that, it was later discovered that Han was married to Yang, had spent more than 6 million yuan on his mistress Shi, and his wife had no knowledge of it. And so, since this affair and subsequent expenses occurred at the time of his marriage, his wife has a right to demand her share of the money from the mistress. Explaining this, Yu Zhengchao, a lawyer from the Henan Yushan Law Firm, told the Henan Broadcasting System, “Any significant assets that a married man acquires during an affair, without the wife’s consent, will be transferred to the couple. are considered to be jointly owned. The wife has a legal right to demand the return of her share from the third party,” SCMP reported.
This strange incident has amused people on social media. One user commented, “The result is really satisfying. Taking the money and refusing to divorce – that’s the best way to make her lose both the man and the money! While another joked, “What a man who The price is 1.2 million yuan?”
Real life is stranger than fiction sometimes, isn’t it?
