Ralph Fiennes, known for his powerful performances, recently opened up about his overwhelming experience while filming Maid in Manhattan.
The actor revealed that during the shoot, he ‘felt lost’ many times as he struggled to find his place in the role, which was different from his previous roles.
Ralph, who starred opposite Jennifer Lopez in the 2002 rom-com, admitted that he felt a little uneasy at the time because he was unfamiliar with American politics.
During his interview with peoplethe star shared: “It was a romcom script. It was light.”
“[But] I think I felt a little at sea at times. [I wondered] ‘Now, who is this Republican senator?’ My antennae for things American has – I think – improved since then. But then I think I was a bit lost sometimes,” he continued.
Natasha Richardson, who tragically died in an accident in 2009 when she was just 45, also appeared in the film.
However, Ralph still holds the memories close to his heart as he cherishes the experience of working with the talented actress.
“I was friends with Natasha. And it was incredibly devastating for all her friends and – of course – her family that she died so tragically and at such a young age. I had the pleasure of spending time with Natasha. Have many happy memories. [her husband] Liam [Neeson]Ralph added.
