Sukkur: Sindhi Culture Day was celebrated across the country with traditional costumes, folk songs and rallies with the theme ‘Defeat Hate, Make Sindh Extremism Free’.
The people of Sindh presented each other with Sindhi hats and ajrak as a gesture of goodwill. Rallies were held across Pakistan to celebrate this day. Events were organized in schools and colleges while stalls were set up in various cities of the province to display traditional cultural items.
Sindh Topi and Ajrak Day was celebrated in all the big and small cities including Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Nowshahrofiroz, Moru, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Mithi, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Badin and Sanghar. Workers of PPP, PMLN, PTI, civil society, trade unions, journalists, students, intellectuals, youth, children, girls and nationalist and political parties danced in colorful costumes. The day witnessed colorful events including rallies and motor cycles.
