Reacting to the tough statements of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) senior leaders Maryam Nawaz and Khawaja Asif, senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser on Saturday said that the duo ” Trying our best”. To derail the ongoing negotiation process between the government and the opposition.

In a video statement posted on his official X-handle on Saturday, the former National Assembly Speaker said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam and Defense Minister Asif are trying their best to derail the negotiation process.

He said that jailed PTI founder Imran Khan is being accused of trying to derail the talks through his critical statements.

“We are an oppressed community. We were oppressed.. our people were fired upon,” he lamented, adding that despite the end of the “tall elephant”. The war-torn party has been accused of trying to undermine the talks.

Qaiser said that the government had promised to meet the founder of PTI but it is making different excuses.

Asserting that the former ruling party would stand firm on its stand, the former speaker of the National Assembly said that the PTI wanted the rule of the constitution, an independent judiciary, civil supremacy and a strong parliament in the country.

“We are committed to negotiations, so we are talking with confidence,” he added.

He expressed regret over the statement of PML-N leaders even though his party is engaged in negotiations for the sake of the country.

Qaiser, referring to Maryam’s statement against the jailed PTI founder a few days ago, said that the problems faced by the former prime minister are the result of his own actions.

Urging the students not to go against the country “under any circumstances”, he said that anyone “who asks you for siege and arson is not your friend”.

Similarly, Asif criticized the opposition party after his founding post on X, warning the government that it would shut down the dialogue process after the third meeting if it remained frivolous and on the events of 9 May and 26 November. Failed to form a judicial commission.
