PESHAWAR: Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Member of National Assembly (MNA) from Peshawar, Arbab Sher Ali on Friday demanded the federal government and other institutions to stop injustice to Pakhtuns.

Addressing the press conference, he criticized the mistreatment of PTI supporters during the protest in Islamabad on November 24. On this occasion, PTI Peshawar district president Irfan Saleem and the provincial general secretary of Insaf Lawyers Forum. Ali Zaman was also present.

Sher Ali condemned the use of force at D Chowk on the night of November 25, calling it “brutal and unacceptable”. The MNA alleged that after the crackdown, a targeted campaign against Pakhtuns began in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Attock. “Thousands of innocent Pakhtuns, including street vendors, vegetable vendors, security guards, and drivers, who have nothing to do with the PTI, are currently detained in various police stations,” he claimed.

He said that these persons are being punished on the pretext of being PTI workers, which has spread anger among the Pakhtuns. They always hold the oppressors accountable,” he said, adding that constant complaints can turn into hatred against institutions.

Irfan Salim criticized the silence of so-called nationalist and political leaders on the “oppressive actions of the Punjab government and Mohsin Naqvi” against the Pakhtuns.

He said that those who remained silent were as much participants in the persecution of Pakhtuns as Mohsin Naqvi, the Punjab government or the establishment. Acknowledge or condemn injustices done to Pakhtuns.

Ali Zaman highlighted the efforts that ILF lawyers were making for the release of detained Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf workers and innocent Pakhtuns. He said that they are working in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Attock for the release of all the detainees.
