Sarah Ferguson has opened up about her cancer journey and the key advice she gave to her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
During an exclusive interview with Hello! MagazineThe Duchess of York, a breast cancer survivor, said she often urges her daughters to raise awareness about the growing disease.
“I’m only standing here today thanks to a routine mammogram appointment that I almost missed,” she said of her journey.
“It’s really important that we all go for our regular screenings and that we’re breast aware and get any changes or lumps checked early,” Sarah added.
The duchess said she urged Beatrice and Eugenie to “be aware of the breast because breast cancer can strike at any age.”
Sarah said it was “important” that people take responsibility for our own well-being. He continued, “…if you think something is wrong, ask for help and don’t take no for an answer.”
Additionally, Prince Andrew’s wife made an emotional confession about cancer, saying that the disease is “like a bomb in your life, and it affects not only you, but your whole family.”
The mother-of-two revealed that she is a positive person but two cancer diagnoses have affected her life.
