Prince William stepped out for a major solo outing as he joined forces with big names to champion a cause close to his heart.
On Wednesday, Kensington Palace shared an update on the Prince of Wales, who is reportedly preparing for his future role in the royal family.
“Congratulations to this year’s Tusk Awards winners! Truly inspiring to join @idriselba in celebrating their dedication to protecting and protecting Africa’s precious wildlife,” along with a carousel of highlights from the event. The statement was read.
“The passion and resilience shown by these remarkable individuals, working tirelessly to protect our natural world for future generations, is inspiring.”
The Tusk Conservation Awards, in partnership with Ninety One, honor African conservation heroes. The programme, which is patronized by the Prince of Wales, has been helping dignitaries tell their stories for more than a decade. It held its 12th iteration on Wednesday.
The Ranger Award went to Clever Antoinkema, the Conservation Award went to Edward Arona and the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa went to Nomba Ganname.
William expressed his delight at shining a light on “a handful of remarkable people who work on the front lines of conservation”. He acknowledged their “unwavering commitment” to the cause despite numerous challenges.
The update comes after reports that King Charles is set to make some drastic changes to the palace.
A report by We weekly suggested that there could be tension between father and son, with William’s role as future king a “sensitive subject” for the current cancer-stricken monarch.
An insider revealed that both William and Charles are professionals but “the royal family is fine-tuning protocols and communication strategies for a smooth transition”.
